St Annes Cricket Club - Team photos and articles

This post contains photographs and articles relating to St Annes Cricket Club for the period 1913 through to 1983.  Firstly, I do not consider myself in any way to be an expert on St Annes Cricket Club.  The photographs and articles were collected over a period of six years whilst carrying out research for my Blackpool & the Fylde Coast Amateur Football Archives Facebook Group and this post has allowed me to publish all of of my St Annes CC related photographs and articles in one place as oppossed to simply languishing on my computer.

The vast majority of the photographs and articles were extracted from copies of the Lytham St Annes Express held at the Lytham Archives.  If interested, many brief match reports and scorecards are available for the whole period via old copies of the Lytham St Annes Express held within the Lytham Archives (Bannister Street) that is open to the public each Wednesday afternoon from 1pm until 4pm.

                Late 2022, I was sat in the Lytham Archives on Bannister Street browsing through 1930 editions of the Lytham St Annes Express when the above headline jumped off the page. A headline that if seen today would rightly make national and perhaps international news. July 9 th , 2023, marks the 93 rd anniversary of one of St Annes’ worst tragedies. Walking the Moss - June 2nd 2021

                                  -------------------------------------------------------------------------- For those interested, here’s a ‘photo walk’ of Marton Moss undertaken in early June 2021. This is my favourite summer solo walk and previously, I’ve been reluctant to post it, firstly because I expect that it may be on the edge of legality and secondly, for half the walk I’ve never bumped into another soul.  However, with the new road across the Moss on the horizon, I don’t expect that anybody will soon be able to walk it in the near future, legally or otherwise, so I’ve recorded it for posterity. It’s highly likely that many have not seen a number of these views previously.
